Hall of Famer Dr. Lisa Su '86 Visits

Hall of Famer Lisa Su ’86 visited Bronx Science on October 30th for her Hall of Fame induction. Dr. Su is the CEO of AMD, a semiconductor company that develops computer processors and related technologies. A Fortune 500 company, AMD is at the forefront of the industry to power the systems that help change the world. 

This was Dr. Su’s first visit to Bronx Science since her graduation! She spoke with students, visited classes and was formally inducted into the Bronx Science Hall of Fame. Dr. Su spoke fondly about her time on the math team, how she found her passion for semiconductors and how students should continually find ways to challenge themselves.

Dr. Su raffled off several computers to students at Bronx Science. Also, we are excited to report that Dr. Su announced that she is donating a brand new computer lab with state of the art computers as well as a new server to Bronx Science. This will enable the Computer Sciencedepartment to offer new advanced courses in Operating Systems and Databases in addition to all of our current computer science classes.
