Endowment Fund Seeks Executive Director

The Bronx High School of Science Endowment Fund, Inc. is committed to ensuring quality programs and facilities at Bronx Science -- including state-of-the-art science labs, computer technology, library and performing arts facilities.   The Fund was established in 1992 to financially support the Bronx High School of Science as a model for public education in both idea and in practice.  Today, as in earlier generations, Bronx Science graduates go on to careers of high achievement in science and higher education, and also in business, government, public service and a plethora of additional fields.  The Endowment Fund raises major gifts, primarily among alumni, for capital and program expenditures and for scholarship and endowment funds that will enable the continued success of the school and its students.

 Two years ago, the Endowment Fund launched an ambitious fundraising effort: Many Faces, One Dream, The Campaign for The Bronx High School of Science.  The goal of this Campaign is to raise $20 million to benefit the school now and for future.  We have been quite successful in our efforts and have not only raised almost $7 million but have deployed a significant amount to the betterment of the school.

It is at this time that the Endowment Fund would like to elevate our efforts by creating and filling a full-time paid position of Executive Director. 

The Executive Director position requires experience, organization and management skills, together with leadership qualities, to strategically guide the Endowment Fund to a new level of fundraising and effectiveness.   The person in this position will be the liaison to the Board and a crucial communicator with alumni who are interested in making major gifts and planned gifts to the Bronx High School of Science.

In addition to a proven track record of successful fundraising, with an ability to “raise the bar” annually, the Executive Director will possess excellent leadership and managerial skills, including volunteer recruitment and retention, board development, previous equivalent P&L responsibility, and a passion for operational excellence.  The Executive Director must be proactive, with superior communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.
