A Message to Fellow Alumni from Principal Jean Donahue ('77)
Dear Alumni,
The future continues to be bright for our students because of your sustained generosity with your time and
resources. Our talented and hardworking students rely on you to support their experiences both in and out of the classroom.
Many of you spent a recent Sunday at Bronx Science conducting mock college interviews with our seniors. The feedback you provided them was invaluable as they prepare to interview at top colleges and universities.
In order to prepare them to succeed at these institutions, we offer many advanced and challenging courses not found in an ordinary high school. We could not do this without your help. For example, Alumni Association funds have recently been used to purchase sensitive balances used in our post-AP Analytical Chemistry course, celestial globes for our Astronomy students, and textbooks for our AP Chinese class.
Our students’ learning outside the classroom is also dependent upon you. Your generous funding supports our nationally recognized debate team, our robotics teams, and our drama program. It is here, as much as in the classroom, that students learn to craft arguments, to solve problems, and to express themselves creatively.
Thank you for the support you have shown our students.
It is only in partnership with our alumni that we can give them the education they deserve.
With much appreciation,
Dr. Jean Donahue (’77)
